Information we may handle
The Nginx server creates operational logs when it handles a request. Depending on its configuration, those logs may include:
- IP address
- browser information
- requested resource
- request time
- response status
- referring page
If you email us, we receive your email address, the content and attachments you choose to send, and ordinary message metadata. Please provide only information needed for your request.
Why we use it
- To deliver, operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
- To detect or investigate faults, abuse, and security incidents.
- To answer enquiries and handle correction, privacy, and legal requests.
- To keep necessary records and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
As of 13 August 2026, the Layer North app does not intentionally set cookies or similar browser storage and does not use analytics or advertising technologies. Server logs are not browser storage. See the Cookie Policy for details.
Service providers and disclosure
Contabo provides the virtual private server used to host Layer North. Email and other technical providers may process information to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers, authorities, or other recipients when reasonably necessary to protect the site, respond to a lawful request, or comply with applicable law.
The VPS hosting country and the processing locations used by every service provider have not been verified for publication. Information may therefore be processed outside your country.
Retention
Logs are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the site, troubleshoot faults, investigate abuse, and meet applicable legal obligations. A fixed retention period has not been verified.
Email correspondence is kept for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, maintain necessary records, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal obligations. Retention can also be affected by backups and provider systems.
Your requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you, subject to applicable law and necessary identity verification. Some information may need to be retained where the law permits or requires it. Send the request with the subject Privacy to contact@layernorth.com.
Security and policy changes
We take proportionate steps to protect the information we handle, but no internet service or email channel is completely secure. Material changes to these practices will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
